So sorry for the slow reply. I missed a few posts a couple weeks back...

If using a specified ocean SST your equilibrium time will be less than 5 years (though we usually like to run experiments for 10 years and average the last 5 for our results).

If using a predicted ocean SST (mixed layer ocean runs) it may take as much as 30-100 years to reach equilibrium depending upon the size of the forcing applied.

If using a predicted ocean SST and a transient forcing (using the EdGCM Trends sections) the run will only come into equilibrium 30+ years after the forcing becomes constant.
