IBM has terminated the development of the supercomputer Blue Waters. So there will be only 2 U.S. supercomputers left for winning the title the fastest supercomputers on the earth.

The poor economy in U.S. will kill more top supercomputers in the coming years. In fact, some people in the U.S. believe that the first exoflop supercomputer will be built by China, although they are sure that the technology to build such computer is American technology (at least, some people in Intel think so).
Patrick.
P.S. The loss of Blue Waters does not hurt the IPCC AR5 simulation because the deployment of Blue Waters has been several months behind the original plan.
